Professor Guo Wei Qin was born to a family with a strong background in Chinese medicine, and her father was Dr. Guo Shi Kui was a famous cardiac specialist in China. She studied under many famous Chinese Medicine practitioners such as Qin Bo Wei, Ren Ying Qiu, Dong Jian Hua and Liu Dou Zhou.

Professor Guo Wei Qin was involved in the Chinese Medicine treatment of cardiac disorders rom 1997, and specialises in the treatment of angina pectoris, coronary disease, myocardial infarction, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension, myocarditis etc. From 1989~1991 she heads a research team on “Clinical Research on Heart and Kidney yang deficiency and cardiac disorders” and the strategy of “Augmenting qi and unblocking vessels in the treatment of coronary heart disease”.
